THREAD LIFT
Thread lift is a treatment that is gaining popularity, as time goes by we age, our skin loses its firmness, softness and elasticity, whilst collagen and face fat is lost. All of this causes flaccidity and undesirable wrinkles. The most affected areas of the face are usually cheeks, eyebrows, and other areas around the neck and chin.

It’s a non-surgical technique, very safe, painless, and with immediate results, its main goal is to tense the skin via the insertion of threads in the dermis with a guide needle.

Contraindications
One of the main advantages of the thread lifting is that is has very few contraindications. It is usually not applied in patients that are in one of the following situations:
- Neoplastic diseases, autoimmune, vascular afflictions or diabetes.
- It is contraindicated in the case of women in gestation of breastfeeding stages.
- It is not recommended for patients with active infections in the zone where the treatment will be applied, the ideal scenario would be to postpone it until the infection has disappeared.
Results
The effects of the thread lifting are instant and will achieve firmness and to strengthen the treated area, giving it a very natural and healthy look. The definitive result is obtained when the collagen is formed, between 1 and 2 months after the treatment is applied.

Rejuvenation usually lasts, depending on the patient typology, up to 18 months, but one of the advantages of the technique is that the thread lifts can be applied again to retouch and maintain the effects.
After the application there’s usually no side effects, but in case that there are some, they’re nothing more a small hematoma or slight swelling, also the patient can resume his or her normal activities once the session is done, without having to have any post operation period or treatment.

Disadvantages
Whilst secondary effects are mild and unfrequent, there are exceptional cases where a little hematoma, swelling or slight infection can occur.
The treatment must be applied by a professional with experience in order to avoid possible asymmetries that might result from a poor execution in the thread insertion.
Its results are not permanent, the progressively fade and in less time than a conventional procedure. The usually last from 12 to 18 months.

Which type of patients are recommended for this non-surgical lifting?
The best candidates are for reabsorbed thread lifting are people with slight signs of aging of flaccidity that only required a little nudge. In general, the most common profile is women age 35 to 45 that are affected by the first signs of time passing, such as tear valleys, cheek flaccidness or eyebrows, bags below the eyes or neck.
In the case of older people, a treatment of thread lifting is recommended as a complement to aesthetic surgery such as face lifting.
